In dance, kids develop their coordination, flexibility, muscle development and agility. A foundation in dance is an advantage for any athlete and and an asset for life whether or not a child chooses to dance long term.
Besides being a good form of exercise and having a positive impact on health, a recent study showed that dance actually makes kids smarter by having to keep time and remember dance steps. Thus, through dance kids exercise the brain as well as the body.

Good question! Natural talent is extremely helpful, but hard work beats talent when talent stops working hard!! If you want your child to have their best chance of realizing their full potential as a dancer he/she needs to have good attendance, pay attention in class, practice at home and have a positive attitude. Many of our students who graduate as phenomenal dancers started as shy 3-year-olds with no idea what they were doing. What made them great? Consistent effort, supportive care givers, and slow and steady progress! Should I push my kid? Most definitely, yes! Even the most avid little dancers don't always want to come to class when a favorite TV show or neighborhood playmate is a viable option. That doesn't mean they don't love dance, it just means that they are a kid. They will thank you later for not letting them skip or quit dance!
Online payments through our Jackrabbit system make it quick and easy to pay via credit card, debit card or automatic bank withdrawal! Your account will be billed automatically on the 1st of the month. (Anyone who prefers their account be charged on the 15th of the month just needs to arrange that with our Accounts Manager, Samantha Mounts.) Those paying in cash must pay ON OR BEFORE the 1st of the month to avoid accruing late fees. (Nobody likes late fees and we hate giving them so please pay on time.)
Every performing class receives a costume! TG is well known for providing stunning costumes at an affordable price due to the great taste and bargain hunting power of director, Lori Baker!! In addition to being high quality and sparkly, our costumes are modest and age appropriate. In order to ensure that costumes arrive in time for spring performances and recital, we order in Oct/Nov. We break up your costume payments in 3 monthly installments from September through November to make it easier on your budget. (If you'd rather, they may be paid for all at once. )
No! But... well-behaved dancers are welcome to wait in the lobby before and after class (if wait is less than 30 mins.) However, individual supervision is not provided. Our desk staff does a great job keeping an eye on dancers between classes but they have many other responsibilities they are doing at the same time. Our goal is to make it easier on parents who have multiple children they need to transport to various activities, but we are not a free babysitting service so please don't abuse the privilege of allowing dancers to be dropped off early or picked up late. Dancers are advised not to go off of the front porch between classes and while waiting for rides but they often have minds of their own. "Today's Generation" is not responsible for strong-willed children! Dancers are also advised not to go to gas station next door without parent permission. I understand that "Today's Generation" does not give dancers permission to go to gas station but does not stop dancers if they are old enough to claim to have parent permission to do so. I understand that "Today's Generation" will do their best to monitor waiting room activity between classes but, ultimately, I am responsible for my child's safety and well being before and after class. (Siblings of dancers are not allowed to wait unattended in waiting room. )
